How we have been making our information accessible

When we produce new information, such as leaflets or consultation documents, we gather feedback on the materials through our patient groups. These groups have a wide variety of membership, including people with disabilities, representatives from community groups and health professionals.

Going to the doctors surgery in Southampton – Easy Read survey
This survey was designed for people with learning disabilities, so they could feedback their experiences of their GP practice. Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust provide local learning disability services so they assisted us with sharing this survey with their patients. We received 128 responses. As we got feedback on the survey some questions were also reworded to make them easier to understand. You can view a copy of the survey on our website: Going to the doctors surgery - Easy Read Survey.

Easy Read information about our Patient Experience Service
Our Patient Experience Team are there to listen to peoples experiences of health services in Southampton. This could be feedback, a compliment, complaint or concern and the team will work with the person and health service involved to share their feedback. To make sure as many people as possible can contact our Patient Experience Team, we have an Easy Read version of the information leaflet.
