Have a healthy Ramadan this summer

With the holy month of Ramadan coming up, doctors in Southampton have put together some top tips for those planning to fast.

During Ramadan, many Muslims refrain from eating food or drinking liquids from sunrise until sunset. This year Ramadan is due to start around 28th June. The lighter days of summer mean long fasting times – which can be a concern for those with existing medical conditions.

A Healthy Southampton for All – CCG launches five year strategy

We want to make Southampton a healthier place for all local people and we have a plan to help us do it!

That's the message from Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group's (CCG) Clinical Chair, Dr Steve Townsend, who formally launched the organisations five year strategy today. The document, 'A Healthy Southampton for All' sets out what the CCG will do over the next five years to improve the health of local people.

Carers Week 9th– 15th June

Carers Week runs from Monday 9th – Sunday 15th June. It is a national awareness week, which aims to improve the lives of carers, and the people they care for.

This year the theme of cares week is the 'Carers Week Quest' which is designed to reach out and support carers who may be missing out on the services and support available.
