Health and social care services in the city enter a new era

Launching the transformation of health and social care in Southampton, the local Better Care plan has been submitted to ministers. The plan highlights how health and social care services are going to integrate more effectively, providing a seamless service for patients and service users. Care will be centred around individuals and their carers and the aim will be to intervene earlier in order to secure better outcomes by providing more co-ordinated, proactive services.

Weather the storm and stay well this weekend

We want to ensure people in Southampton are aware of the range of local services available if they do need medical advice – such as calling 111, visiting the local Minor Injuries Unit (MIU), seeking advice from your local pharmacist or self-caring at home where appropriate.

We’re all ears, says GP group

GPs in Southampton want to hear the views of patients who use two specific health services in the city, as they look to make improvements.

Patients – and their carers – are being invited to join groups to discuss ear, nose and throat (ENT) and musculoskeletal (MSK) services.
