Winter nursing pilot – update

NHS Southampton City CCG and Solent NHS Trust welcomed the opportunity to discuss with the Council's Health Overview and Scrutiny Panel (HOSP) last night their proposals to pilot new nursing services over the winter by means of redeploying resources that would have been freed up by the temporary suspension of the Bitterne Walk in Centre (WIC).

Winter is a challenging time for the NHS both locally and nationally. At times of increased pressure on the system, we need to look carefully at how we are allocating our resources. We are working with GPs, hospitals and Solent NHS Trust, the community care provider, to ensure we are using our valuable resources where they will have the greatest impact.
