    With the festive season fast approaching, local doctors want to help make sure you know about the Southampton health services here to help you over the Christmas holidays.

    Local GP and Chair of NHS Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group, Dr Mark Kelsey, said: "We all know the lead up to Christmas is busy, and we might not be thinking about our health as we get ready for the holidays, so we hope these simple tips will help you know about the services and support available here in Southampton.”

    Opening times are provided by the pharmacies and are correct at the time of publishing but are subject to change. So if you do need to visit a pharmacy over a bank holiday please call ahead to check they are open and have the medicine you need.

    If you need medical help or advice over the bank holiday weekend and aren't sure where to go, phone 111. The NHS 111 service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and calls are free from landlines and mobiles. The 111 team can find the right local service for you, including out of hours GP appointments and emergency dentists.

    This year our theme will be working together with Southampton’s communities to plan for health and care over the next five years. We will be reflecting on recent innovations and asking for your thoughts on how we achieve the changes we need in the next five years to meet the needs of people living in Southampton.
